All-Star Break

Whew. Did anyone think we'd get here and find the Dodgers in first place, and the Angels in third (but only two and a half out)? Not me. Both teams ended the first "half" on positive notes, the Angels with a road sweep of the Blue Jays, and the Dodgers taking three of four from a sputtering Astros team watching its season vanish before its eyes. The time is right for a midterm. Time to get one up -- Real Soon Now.

Comments:
Well, it'll be magical for somebody. This is a darn weak division. DePo's comments about the nature of the trade market the other day were directed at the possibility of getting an impact player that way, and it won't be easy.
