Dodgers 8, Angels 5

Wally Bell called a tight strike zone tonight; one of the early memorable sights was an incredulous Mike Scioscia looking at what he felt sure should have been a Colon strike. Please to note, I've given up spelling his name the correct way; he can earn that acute back. In the meantime, he's just the tail end of the digestive tract, or El Ladrón... sevin freakin' earned runs.

Everyone's homerriffic tonight, but the Dodgers improbably more so than the Angels. Belly got two in, and... Ventura? Now that's batting practice. Even Ramon Ortiz, lately solid, coughs up a longball to the Angriest Man In Baseball and a Shawn Green attempt that came dang close. But Ortiz didn't let it rattle him, and shut down the Dodgers through five. If ever there were a reason to give the boot to Colon, this game was it. Ortiz has come back strong from early season awfulness.

The bad news of the game was Jackson going down after only an inning and two thirds, with some kind of elbow soreness. Rex and Hud said he's listed "day to day".
