Cardinals 6, Giants 1
St. Louis blew out the Cubs for the division, and they blew out the Giants for this game, despite Jason Schmidt's presence on the mound. It wasn't as though the Giants' ace pitched badly; he left the game in the 7th trailing 2-1. But the Cards offense... well, let's just say the top of their order is almost certainly historic, it's so good, along the lines of the Yankees' Murderer's Row teams of the late 20's. We'll have our work cut out for us when we see them in September, which I certainly wish we could do in August instead.
