Glaus The Hoss?
Buried in this story about last night's Percival-honoring festivities is the following comment:
Scioscia said Troy Glaus (shoulder surgery) is going to be re-evaluated this week and might be cleared to do swinging drills. Scioscia did say, however, that there's still no timetable for his possible return.I really think Glaus is done as far as power is concerned, that is, if Shawn Green is any guide. But I'm not Will Carroll. I don't even play a guy who plays a doctor on the Internet.

are they the exact same injury, though? and even if they are, they are two different individuals, so it's hard to say for sure.
if i recall, even after the injury, while glaus was still playing, he was still able to hit home runs and produce... so i don't see why he shouldn't be able to do so after the injury addressed by surgery. but then, like you, i don't pretend to have any idea about the anatomical and medical details of his situation, either.
