A Jolly Mess

Any company named Jolly is just asking for it, but one that offshores its development deserves to have its source code lifted by an employee:
Though the Indian branch of Jolly Technologies requires employees to sign [an employment agreement prohibiting them from transferring source code], the sluggish Indian legal system and the absence of intellectual property laws make it nearly impossible to enforce such agreements, the company said.
Me, I'm just waiting for the day that some guy in Citicorp's Indian offices swipes a few hundred thousand credit cards and the yutzes in New York have no recourse thanks to the "sluggish Indian legal system". Yeah.

Oh, The Menace Of Dangling Participles

George Bush, on the defense appropriation bill he signed this morning:
Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.
At last he admits it! Hey, I swear, I couldn't make this stuff up...

Gas, Grass, or ... Rent?

There are naifs and there are naifs. Anybody thinking she can get into an OC beachside apartment for $850 a month without making up the difference in ahem "other ways" is out of her little cotton-pickin' mind, but 6-4-2 gives her kudos for making the try, in the same way Anderson still keeps trying to shag flyballs in center:
Posted July 10: "I am offering a beautiful private bedroom and ba(th) in a home with amazing ocean view ... come be my domestic helper. Clean, do laundry and have the time of your life. I will take good care of you, but when you leave things dirty or not done right, you will be disciplined with a good old fashioned spanking."

Wait, did he just ... ? Yeah, he did. But he does add that he is a handsome professional and asks that his potential roommate be fit and "not be a runaway or girl on drugs."

... My mom tells me my expectations far exceed my pocketbook.... True, I could find a $550-$650 studio in Stanton or Garden Grove. I could find it in La Habra or Anaheim or Santa Ana. I just don't want to live there.

Suck it up, girl. You'll learn soon enough to temper your needs. Or else you'll learn to like stinging nettle.

Comments:
ah... 'tis my dream as well. returning to o.c. ;) of course I come from north county, but I can't stand that damn 100 degree heat in yorba linda, fullerton, etc. definitely will eventually settle in hb or somewhere in the vicinity.

of course I'm sitting in an apt on the la jolla beach so I can't complain *too* much.
