Just My Imagination: Cardinals 6, Dodgers 5

Way back in April, I watched them as Dodgers rode high
I said to myself, "Their luck will run out by July"
For them to win it all is truly a dream come true
Beating Giants, Padres, and the Snakes -- it could belong to you

But it was just my 'magination
Running away with me
Tell me it was just my 'magination
Running away with me

(Then) we played St. Louis -- they swept us one, two, three (oh yeah)
Our pitchers had nothing, they homered endlessly
This couldn't be a dream, I'll tell you how real it seems

But it was just my 'magination
Running away with me
Tell me it was just my 'magination
Running away with me

Every day on my knees I pray --
Dear Lord, hear my plea
Get Penny's arm back 'fore next weekend's games begin
Or we will surely fry
(The Cards are) homer-ly
Even Eric Gagné
Can't hold them down indef'nitely
But in reality
We're done in one round anyway
