High Def Notes

Was anybody else miffed that yesterday's Angels-A's game was broadcast in HD, yet not by ESPN, Fox, or any local affiliate's HD arm, anywhere? It was on INHD -- which we discovered after the fact. Today, of course, INHD is running the "Cathedrals of the Game" series of documentaries; at 4:00 PM PDT tomorrow, the subject is Dodger Stadium, which should put it at about the start of the seventh inning in tomorrow's Angels-A's game, and likewise for the Giants-Dodgers game.

Despite rising attendance and interest, baseball's main event, the World Series, won't have a single game broadcast in HD nationally, nor in arguably its largest market. (The Dodgers and Angels have both drawn 3,000,000 fans this year, the first time in history for a two-team market to do so.) None of FSN (who, shamefully, despite their affiliation with the team, hasn't aired a Dodgers HD broadcast since July), ESPN HD (who somehow found it in their hearts to air the Auburn vs. Clemson game today!), INHD (who gets props for actually airing games of national importance), or even local HD broadcasters KCOP and KTTV will broadcast any baseball in HD this weekend. It's an appalling state of affairs.

Last Possible Second Update: KTTV is broadcasting today's Dodgers game in HD.

You should have checked www.hdsportsguide.com so you would know what was going to be on in HD!
