Yankees 6, Twins 5

The offseason debate that will ring in Batgirl's ears will be, why, oh why did you pull Santana after the fifth? I understand that maybe you want to have something left in reserve for a possible game five, but you play to win today. If Santana leaves in the sixth -- assuming he maintains his dominance -- they skip Juan "Boo-Berry" Rincon in the lineup, the Twins go to Gotham. Probably there to die, but that's beside the point. It's not the first time Gardenhire would blow it.

For now, we can all take solace that the Red Sox will play the Yankees. Angels fans still simmering over the sweep by the Sox can take some solace over last year's outcome ... and 1986 ... and 1978 ... and 1975 ... and 1967 ... and 1946 ... and ....

The ironic thing is I felt a lot more comfortable playing the Yanks than I did playing the Sox. Given we were missing Guillen, the chances of us actually getting through the Yankees was probably less than 50-50, but still, I liked those odds. The Sox seem to have our number this year.
