Like Father, Like Son?

From Jon's excerpt of Glenn Stout's new book, The Dodgers:
It soon became clear why [Dodgers GM Buzzie] Bavasi had never made many trades – he didn’t know how. He dealt for names, not talent. Lou Johnson was sent to the Cubs for Paul Popovich, an infielder with no pop whatsoever. He bought former slugger Rocky Colavito from the White Sox and sent Hunt to the Giants for catcher Tom Haller.
Something to think upon when considering the biggest deal Bill Bavasi made as Angels GM: signing free agent Mo Vaughn, who is only this year coming off the Mets' books. I wonder what the Mariners bloggers would have to say.
