Chisox Chill Vazquez-For-Konerko Chatter
The earlier discussions that the Chisox would give up Paul Konerko, Damaso Marte, and Jon Garland for Javier Vazquez appear to be so much gas, says the Chicago Tribune. Of course, Williams believes that the Sox' bullpen "could be among the best in baseball", which makes me wonder whether his ability to do arithmetic is intact; the Sox' pen had a 4.31 ERA and was 19th in the majors by that metric. Sox fans should rightfully be concerned; the bottom half is not normally where superiority lies.

It was all spin, but one interesting thing is he said Brozaban is included in the deal because nobody is sure if Penny is healthy.
