Dodgers, Penny Reach Agreement
The Dodgers and Brad Penny reached an agreement, for a one-year, $5.1M contract. Also:
- Joe Thurston and Chin-Feng Chen have cleared waivers and will be outrighted to Vegas.
- The Dodgers are trying to add RHP Scott Erickson to the NRI list for spring training. "Erickson was a 20-game winner in 1991 and one of the most prolific innings-eaters of the 1990s, but has been plagued by arm problems the last five years, missing two seasons entirely. He pitched 27 innings last season with the Mets and Rangers."
- Other NRIs are: "Right-handed pitchers Buddy Carlyle, Aquilino Lopez, Ryan Rupe; left-handed pitchers Mike Venafro, Kelly Wunsch; catcher Mike Rose; infielders Jose Flores, James Loney, Tony Schrager, Joe Thurston; outfielders Chin-Feng Chen, Mike Edwards, Tydus Meadows, Brian Myrow, Henri Stanley and Jon Weber."
