Angels-57-27+54=4, White Sox 0
For the offense: AK doubled home two, and Benjie singled and slammed a solo shot to dead center (only his third of the year) for the other two runs. The still-threadbare offense has some glimmers of life that may or may not be enough to carry the team for the next couple weeks.
To the Sox: Garland wasn't bad, but neither was he especially good, collecting little more than the minimum for a quality start. Their hitting, not really among the top power-hitting clubs as they have been of late years, was stymied by a case of rookiepitcheritis.
I won't take credit for it -- I'll probably watch the Angels get slammed the other two games of this series -- but I will say this: somebody has to fell the Chisox. It has to happen. If the team that does it is the Angels (contra my premonition), so be it.
