Rickety Henderson Joins The GBL

Now this is funny...
The Golden Baseball League announced today that former major league all star and MLB all time stolen base leader, Rickey Henderson, known to many as “the Man of Steal”, has reached an agreement to play the 2005 season with the San Diego Surf Dawgs. “The GBL brand of baseball will be characterized as a combination of speed, power, endurance and heart,” said Kevin Outcalt, GBL Commissioner. “Rickey brings a unique mix of these attributes to the Surf Dawgs and our league. His passion for the game is shared by our fans and his many on-field accomplishments set a standard for our younger players.”
I can hardly wait to see what's left of him come out and play, in the same way that you can't avoid watching a car crash...

This could be fun to watch. Henderson's San Diego Surf Dawgs (I kid you not) will be in Fullerton in June to play the Fullerton Flyers at Goodwin Field at CSUF. It might be worth it to grab a seat. You might even hear his knees popping!
Yeah, I may hang out at the Armada games when he shows up just to giggle. Too bad Blair Field doesn't have any outfield seating to speak of. Heck, there isn't much past the first and third baselines.
