Baseball America's Top 25 Prospects

Three Dodgers and two Angels prospects appear on the Baseball America Top 25 Prospects at the midseason mark:
6. Joel Guzman, SS, Dodgers
7. Chad Billingsley, rhp, Dodgers
11. Brandon Wood, ss, Angels
12. Andy LaRoche, 3b, Dodgers
23. Kendry Morales, 1b/of, Angels
No team has more than three players in the top 25, and only one other club besides the Dodgers has three, the Diamondbacks.

The Angels' Erick Aybar appears in the "Second Half Surge" category (players who've had a so-so first half but are expected to do better in the second half). In the "Helium To Spare" department -- most improved players -- we find the following:

19. Chad Billingsley, rhp, Dodgers
67. Jeff Mathis, c, Angels
74. Andy LaRoche, 3b, Dodgers
76. Kendry Morales, of, Angels
83. Brandon Wood, ss, Angels
89. Russell Martin, c, Dodgers
In their "Losing Air" category -- players in danger of losing their "elite prospect" status -- we find these names:
6. Casey Kotchman, 1b, Angels
30. Edwin Jackson, rhp, Dodgers
Finally, these first-timers appear in the "Jumping In" category (players in their first year of pro ball or who have really established themselves strongly after a low-round draft number):
Jonathan Broxton, rhp, Dodgers
Howie Kendrick, 2b, Angels
Justin Orenduff, rhp, Dodgers
Chuck Tiffany, lhp, Dodgers
Jered Weaver, rhp, Angels
