Full Court Perez: Dodgers 1, Phillies 0
There's just no other explanation for this game: alien abduction. Perez had one of his patented games that makes you think he could actually be a damn good pitcher, the Phils have some bad luck, and the Dodgers get their first series win in, like, forever (read: since the last San Diego series in June). I do have to dissent, upon watching the replays, from the Ken Gurnick's MLB.com recap characterization of Jason Repko's seventh inning outfield assist nailing David Bell at third as "clutch". It was really just stupid baserunning of the sort that Mike Scioscia has been known to engage in. Otherwise: a quality game, exceeding rare from the 2005 Dodgers. They don't have a division win in them, but they will beat up somebody or other at the end and make it interesting. And there's alway 2006.
