Hot Rod Todd Hundley Arrested For DUI

Oops: former Dodger Todd Hundley was arrested for DUI while behind the wheel of his Hummer H2 (hat tip: BTF):
Hundley blamed a dose of the prescription painkiller Vicodin that he took for his ailing back on an empty stomach earlier in the evening when he thought he was in for the night. But when his 15-year-old daughter called for a ride from Hundley's ex-wife Tiffany's house 15 minutes across town, he put his 8-year-old daughter in the backseat of his car and hurried over to pick her up.

...

Fans at Wrigley Field made Hundley long for the warmth of Shea Stadium in New York, booing him mercilessly as he struggled to hit just .199 with 28 home runs, 66 RBIs and 169 strikeouts in 171 games over those two torturous seasons.

The abuse got so bad that Hundley once flipped off a fan rounding the bases after a home run and told the boo-birds to "kiss my butt" before being traded to the Dodgers before the 2003 season.

...

He faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail for each of the two charges and an additional $1,000 fine and 140 hours of community service because children were involved. He has a scheduled Sept. 21 court appearance. The local Department of Children and Family Services office also was notified because Hundley's daughters were in the vehicle, but Hundley says they spent the night with family and that he considers himself a good dad.

"I wasn't driving 100 m.p.h. through the neighborhood, I was going 2 m.p.h. and just got discombobulated," Hundley said. "People that know me personally know I don't go out getting drunk around town and killing people, that I'm not like that."
