From today's Times, regarding T.J. Simers:
[Vladimir] Guerrero shakes his head, somehow having missed the first 80 episodes [of the George Lopez Show; Lopez was acting as Simers' interpreter], then mutters something to the comedian. Lopez's translation: "He says after seeing you, he knows now why you write and why you don't appear on camera."
Steve Finley, on hopeless incomprehension:
You don't go from doing what I did last year to this.
Scioscia, on the performance of aging players:
As a player, you're the first one to realize you're slipping a little bit, but you're the last one to know you've fallen off the slope and it's over.
It's not like Angels fans were all blindfolded last year during the Southern California Sports Report, Steve:
