OT: Pelican
California brown pelican, Pelecanus occidentalis californicus. I was at the Seal Beach pier with the big lens today -- yes, the one I'm taking to spring training with me -- and happened to notice this big guy on a low pass directly overhead, and got off three quick shots, this being the best of the lot. Missed getting the dolphins cavorting in the water, though. Click on the image above to see the big image in a separate browser window, about 2.3MB.

Nice. Few things are more graceful than a pelican in flight. And they sure don't LOOK like they'd be graceful, but they are.
