UTK Notes
From today's UTK:
- Carroll believes that Bonds is finally ready to go, so the Dodgers could get to see him as early as tonight.
- The Yanks' rotation is on fumes, Mike Mussina isn't able to even throw a light catch session, and the team refuses to commit to a three- or four-starter postseason rotation yet.
- The A's Rich Harden is feeling appreciably better, though it's not likely he'll return by the weekend; expect him to start early the next week.
- Bobby Crosby is hitting off a tee despite his broken ankle. It seems to me that the A's might be rushing both players back.
- "Bobby Kielty may miss time with a strained oblique. The A’s are saying a week, but this injury seldom heals that quickly."
- Josh in his weekly preview/postview couldn't decide whether the Angels missing Curt Schilling was a good thing or a bad thing. We can now answer that question, as anyone watching Monday's Sox/Sox game would have seen a far-from-dominant Schilling. His velocity plummeted after about the third, and he had shaky control throughout. So, notes Will, did Keith Foulke. The Bosox still have an edge coming into today's contest, though, and I fully expect to come away with one more loss than a win, especially after the Angels snubbed Boston's request to grant them a day off.
