Dodgers Receive Permission To Talk To Hart

The Dodgers have received permission to talk to John Hart, the man who decided A-Rod should be paid $25M/year until... 2010? The Padres and Giants nod happily, though Frank might not like the bill.

Comments:
Given his relationship with Orel, Hart might have the inside track. We could do worse, I suppose (e.g., Bowden).

In fairness, it was really the owner of the Rangers who thought A-Rod was worth $250 million. I don't think Hart had as much to do with the signing as a typical GM might.

Perhaps the relationship was more like what Cashman enjoys with Steinbrenner, but certainly, he didn't stop that catastrophe of a deal from going down.
