Angels Waive Jake Woods To Seattle
Comments:
I hope Stoneman hasn't give up too soon on another promising young relief pitcher. In the early stages of last season, he looked like a promising young LOOGY.
for the last time, i will note that woods had one of the prettiest, smoothest pitching deliveries i've ever seen. not that it means much, but it was nice to look at.
Stoneman's castoffs -- Jenks, Turnbow, Peralta, and Woods -- would comprise a pretty good pen for alot of teams. Heck, they might be almost as good as the Angel's current pen. And did the Angels get anything for any of these guys? Nothing. Nada.
I swear Stoneman makes moves sometimes that leave me scratching my head. Maybe there are issues involved that we don't know about. I think the problem is that Yan is still on the roster and we're paying him a million or so, while Woods could more than likely do the same job for the league minimum.
Ick.
I am beginning to think that Stoneman lucked into the current strong Angel bullpen. Most folks, myself included, talked about how Stoneman seemed to understand the concept that good middle relievers are prevalent, and not something that you pay top dollar for - I'm not so sure that he gets that any longer.
Again, ick.
