Rangers Haul In Padres' Adam Eaton

The Rangers needed an ace, and they may have got one: Adam Eaton and Akinori Otsuka, for RHP Chris Young, 1B Adrian Gonzalez, and OF Terrmel Sledge. Well, at least Sledge is used to hitting in pitchers' parks...

Comments:
How big of an upgrade is Eaton over Young? I was quite impressed w/ Young last year the few times I saw him pitch against the Angels. Also, the Rangers gave up a pitcher who they "controlled" for the next several years vs. one who can leave as a free agent after next year. Of course, the Rangers also got a good reliever in Otsuka, so perhaps on balance it was a good move by the Rangers. Still, I wonder . . . .

as an Angel fan, i like this trade
