Future Hall Of Famers, Where Are They Now Edition
- Former Dodger, Angel, Athletic, Yankee, Met, Blue Jay, Padre, Mariner, and Red Sock Rickey Henderson will be a hitting coach for the Mets this year.
“In my mind, I’m not really done playing,” he said Friday during a telephone conference call. “I love playing the game, but right now I haven’t had the opportunity to go out and play. I feel that I have a lot to give back to the game.”
Henderson played with the Golden Baseball League's San Diego Surf Dawgs last year. - Tony Gwynn has given up on ESPN, and will allow his broadcast contract to lapse, in favor of coaching SDSU's baseball team. He will continue to work 30 games a year in the Padres' broadcast booth.
