Giants' Kirk Rueter Retires

At age 35, the Giants' junkballer finally decided to hang up his spikes. Reuter started the 2002 World Series Game 4, pitching six innings but failed to earn a decision (the Giants eventually won that game, 4-3). He had a career 3.79, 2-4 record in six postseason starts; his regular season career numbers are 4.27 ERA, 130-92 in 336 starts, the winningest lefty in Giants history. Judging by the early reaction by Giants fans, his wins will be missed.
