OT: Mt. San Jacinto

Mt. San Jacinto, with snow

Mt. San Jacinto, on the way back home just after a light dusting of snow, with the next wave of storm systems peeking over the summit. I took this Saturday about 9:30; we got started back home at 5:30 when neither of us could sleep, plus we wanted to get the dogs out of dog jail before they closed. Click on the photo to get it in its full 8.2 megapixel glory.

Comments:
nice shot. curious, what camera did you use?

Canon 20D with a Canon 100-400mm f/5.5-f/4.5 telephoto zoom lens; this shot was with full extension (400mm). You can get all the info from the EXIF data, which I left in the JPEG.

nice! i grew up in the north part of Palm Springs and had that picture post card view every single day. the desert floor in the Coachella Valley sits at a few hundered feet above sea level (Indio is actually below sea level), while Mt. San Jacinto is over 10,000 feet high.

it is an awesome site.

indeed it is... sorry to trouble you.

No trouble at all.

I can second that 'No trouble.' He loves to talk about his camera. :-)
