Shelled: Diamondbacks 12, Angels 1

Poor kid's gonna have to live down that last name, that's for sure, but Shell got two scoreless innings in before auto-immolating on the mound. Jered "Scott Boras Says I'm Major-League Ready" Weaver gave up two runs in two innings of work, on four hits; Nick Gorneault scored the only run of the game.

One thing I find annoying about the ST games is that the MLB.com guys feel no obligation to publish even a complete box score. At least we got one today.

The Angels are 2-3 in ST games; they face the White Sox today, hopefully minus Doug Eddings behind the plate.

Recap

Dodgers 3, Cardinals 1

Jason Repko drove in the winning runs, which I take to mean will get him a job with the team in the regular season, hardly a bit of good news. But James Loney went 2-4 and has a .462 average so far, and bully for him. For the Cards, Scott Spiezio went 0-3 with a walk, and has a .385 average in ST.

The Dodgers are 3-2-1 in ST games, and face the Orioles at home next. Jeff Kent is expected to make his spring training debut today, while Andre Ethier became the first ST injury, hurting his shoulder making a diving catch.
