Kelvim Escobar To Make Wednesday Start
Kelvim Escobar will make his regular Wednesday start against Texas.
"I feel good; I don't feel any pain," Escobar said. "To be honest, I don't want to miss any games. I feel so good. I want to get out there every five days. Spring Training was great and the [World Baseball Classic] workouts. Then in the first game, I broke the nail."Whatever, just so long as it isn't a show of bravado.

Yeah. I have a hunch -- and that is all it is -- that he would be better than Colón at this point, and probably his brother as well.
Yeah, Josh, forget about what Peter Gammons said about Jered being better than brother Jeff. Never mind that Colón has a history of hiding pitching injuries (remember the first half of 2004?). Never mind that Weaver held his own against Barry Friggin' Bonds, and then went on to tear through a lineup at the PCL's equivalent of Coors Field. Yeah, just forget all that stuff.

Only five months ago (http://tinyurl.com/kz5yg) you said "it's so hopelessly obvious that Jered Weaver isn't ready for the show" and I remember you complaining about the contract the Angels ultimately offered Weaver, saying along the lines that Weaver -- being untested as a professional -- shouldn't be signed to a guaranteed contract.
Amazing that Jered's gone from "not ready" to being "better than Colon."

Granted, small sample size, but I stand by my earlier analysis of him at the time. Clearly, things have changed since then. When Scioscia says things like
