Late Roster Notes
- Darin Erstad and Garret Anderson should be ready for the regular season.
- Four years and $50M for a dedicated DH? When your name is David Ortiz, I suppose...
- Padres starting centerfielder Mike Cameron hurt his oblique in the batting cage. He will be evaluated tomorrow:
"It's not one of those things that's going to go away tomorrow. I'm not going to diagnose it. Hopefully, something good happens."
- The Giants are said to be near to a multiyear deal with starter Noah Lowry. The rumors say the contract is worth four years and $9 million, with a fifth year option for $6M.
- Maybe he couldn't hear that home run coming: Eric Gagné has an ear infection, which is being treated with antibiotics.
- The Dodgers acquired Wilson Valdez for RHP Jarod Plummer. Valdez will become infield depth at Las Vegas; Rotoworld says he can't hit.
- Update: I forgot to mention the motivation for the Rangers trading for John Koronka, and that is that Adam Eaton is "out indefinitely". Buck Showalter and the team are still being very vague about his return, saying it could be anywhere from weeks to next year.
