Minor League Scorebook

No news tonight, absolutely exhausted, on to the scores...
2006-04-15: Portland 1, Salt Lake 15 #
Aybar, E: 2-5, 1 HR, 3 RBI
Kendrick, H: 4-5, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Gorneault: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
McPherson: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 3B, 5 RBI, 2 K
Napoli, M: 2-5, 1 K
Morales: 2-5, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K
Murphy: 0-5
Pride: 3-4, 1 2B, 1 BB
Willits, R: 2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Gregg: (W, 1-0), 5.0 IP, 0 ER, 5 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 0.00 ERA
An absolute hiding by the Bees, who stung Padres AAA affiliate Portland with fifteen runs and 20 hits. Of course, the big night was Dallas McPherson's, who still managed to strike out twice, but drove in five anyway, and ended the night only a home run away from the cycle. Reggie Willits, Erick Aybar, and Howie Kendrick all homered, Aybar's the second in two days; it's only his fourth extra base hit all year, but he's got a .571 SLG anyway. (N.B. Aybar's Texas League SLG was .445.) Tommy Murphy went 0-5, and mustn't he feel bad.
2006-04-15: Arkansas 5, Wichita 4 #
Bacon: 2-5, 1 2B
Wood: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 BB, 2 K
Wilson: 3-4, 2 2B, 1 RBI
Porter: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Hunter: (W, 1-0), 6.0 IP, 3 ER, 5 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 6.35 ERA
Zimmermann: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
The Travs held on despite a pair of errors; Bobby Wilson's 3-4 night highlighted Arkansas' offensive output, while Brandon Wood's pair of strikeouts were just more growing pains.
2006-04-15: Rancho Cucamonga 9, Lancaster 6 #
Fuller: 2-5, 1 K
Sandoval, F: 0-2, 3 BB
Pali: 2-5, 1 RBI, 2 K
Collins: 4-5, 3 RBI, 1 K
Remole: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Lopez: 1-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Day: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Rodriguez, F: (W, 1-0), 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 8 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 4.91 ERA
Totally not getting this offense from the Quakes; Michael Collins continues to have a hot start to his season (.406 so far, 3 RBI in today's game). The pitching was less impressive than the score indicated, so keep an eye out for regressions.
2006-04-15: Cedar Rapids 5, Wisconsin 3 #
Coon: 2-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Leahy: 2-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Statia: 2-5, 1 2B
Renz: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Madrigal: 1-5, 1 K
Wipke: 1-3, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 2 BB
Mosebach: 3.2 IP, 0 ER, 1.86 ERA
Butcher: (W, 1-0) (in relief), 3.1 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 2.08 ERA
Aldridge: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 8.31 ERA
Another day where the Angels' affiliates all won. Bizarre.
2006-04-15: AZL Angels did not play
2006-04-15: Orem did not play
2006-04-15: Las Vegas 4, Sacramento 17 #
Aybar: 2-4, 1 BB
Ethier: 2-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Guzman, J: 0-4, 1 K
Young, D: 2-4, 2 2B, 2 RBI
Martin, R: 0-4
Stults: (L, 0-1), 4.0 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 2 K, 5 BB, 4.00 ERA
Simmons: 1.2 IP, 6 ER, 6 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 2 HR, 10.80 ERA
If I recall correctly, Eric Stults is organizational fodder left over from last year; not to be taken internally on the 25-man roster. Two five-run innings for the River Cats punctuated this lopsided loss.
2006-04-15: Montgomery 3, Jacksonville 7 #
Hu: 4-5
Abreu: 3-5, 1 RBI
Kemp: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 RBI, 1 K
LaRoche: 0-3, 2 BB, 1 K
Brazell: 2-4, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1 K
Raglani: 1-4, 1 K
Lundberg: (W, 1-0), 5.2 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 5 K, 3 BB, 1.86 ERA
Miller: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
Great offensive outings for Abreu, Kemp, and Brazell. Kemp was a home run away from the cycle.

McDonald: 3.1 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
2006-04-15: GCL Dodgers did not play
