Daniel Davidson did a fair job, but Bob Zimmermann completely lost it. Good news: Tim Bittner pitched a pair of scoreless innings.

Truby: 2-4, 2 RBI
Billingsley: (W, 2-0), 5.1 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 8 K, 3 BB, 2.93 ERA
A makeup game for yesterday's rainout, Chad Billingsley dominated in 5.1 IP and is 2-0 on the season. Nick Alvarez and Willy Aybar had solid multi-hit games as well. The game was completed in seven innings.

Broxton: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
All things considered, Houlton didn't do too badly for himself here, though you really don't like that 1:1 K/BB ratio. You've gotta score runs, and the 51's were stymied by Chad Gaudin, a guy whose H/9 normally hangs in around the 7-12 range. Call it an off game for the 51's if you like.

Alvarez, C: (W, 2-0) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 4.05 ERA
No problems scoring runs here, but all the excitement came in the ninth. Trailing the Mudcats 3-2 with nobody out, the Suns loaded the bases on walks by Tony Abreu and Andy LaRoche; inbetween, Matt Kemp singled. Taylor Tankersley relieved Chris Mobley, and hit Craig Brazell, scoring the tying run. Tankersley then tanked twice more, allowing a pair of bases-loaded walks to Justin Ruggiano and Brad Cresse and a sac fly to Sergio Garcia. In all, the Suns notched four runs in the inning, winning the game on an uneventful Mark Alexander save.

Akin: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 0.90 ERA
A slow bleeding of Jupiter, there wasn't any one event that won this game (though three Hammerheads runs in the first were immediately answered with three right back in Vero's half of that inning); just a one or two runs at a time.

Two Catfish homers and it wasn't enough. That's because middle reliever Matthew Gomez de Segura surrendered six runs on two homers. Ouch.
