Pickoff Moves
Administrivia: Blogger Gripe
I started posting last night and found a keyword verification under the post window, apparently because Blogger thinks 6-4-2 might be a spam blog. Well, it might be a lot of things — annoying, occaisionally politically incorrect on both sides of the aisle — but spam? It seems unfair...Today's Birthdays

Roster Notes And Other Fluff
- Ervin Santana, "the happy assassin"? Too long for a modern nickname.
- Darin Erstad will stay behind as his wife has labor induced.
- Now They Tell Us Dep't: Dallas McPherson overhauled his swing in spring training, leading to a .167 average for Salt Lake, and 15 strikeouts in 24 games.
- Mickey Hatcher worked with Casey Kotchman before Wednesday's game; is he overly aggressive in the regular season?
- Kotchman's absence from the starting lineup Wednesday isn't an indication Scioscia wants to start a platoon:
"Casey is a guy that can hit anybody when he gets his feet underneath him," Scioscia said. "He's been a little over anxious at the plate but I thought he did a great job of going the other way on Tuesday night and that's his game."
- Dan Johnson is hitless in all 26 at bats, and could break the A's team record in his next game with two more 0-fers.
- Hee Seop Choi is still at Red Sox extended spring training, and should start at AAA Pawtucket soon.
- Former Angel Jim Edmonds had the first two-error game of his career yesterday. (ESPN Box)
- Rotoworld says that Cody Ross's Wednesday grand slam makes him only the second active player (along with former Dodger Craig Counsell) whose first two major league home runs are slams.
- Update: Edwin Jackson won his first start for AAA Durham, giving up no runs and striking out four. (MILB.com box.) Jackson is expected to move into the rotation later this year; whether this is a good thing for his development is another thing.
Bonds May Face Perjury Charges
The criminals running the justice department are showboating their way to a grand jury indictment of Barry Bonds for perjury. Will somebody investigate the grand jury and the prosecuting attorney for leaking grand jury testimony? Probably not, but the politically motivated thumpers pressing for Bonds'
Comments:
Grand Jury leaking has become an epidemic. I wish someone in the media would take up the case and point out how abusive this is. Classic case of the little guy getting bullied by the gov't.
Blogger says a spam blog "can be recognized by their irrelevant, repetitive, or nonsensical text". They've got you pegged! ;) JK.
I take it that was ironic sarcasm. If so, what part of "equal justice under the law" do you not understand?
Anon -- Certainly, the Minor League Scorebook posts would look that way...

hrmmm... if hee seop starts his AAA assignment with pawtucket soon, then there's a good chance he might be with the team when the pawsox play the syracuse skychiefs here in syracuse during the first week in may. i would imagine there's a lot easier fan access to the players in AAA... so i wonder if i could talk to him, or maybe even get an interview with him? that'd be fun.
