Jays May Sign Alfonzo, Interested In Kennedy

According to the Toronto Star, the Blue Jays are about to sign recently released Edgardo Alfonzo to a minor league deal, and are interested in dealing for Adam Kennedy, possibly for Shea Hillenbrand, though the difference in salary could be a deal-breaker.

Update: According to tsn.ca, the Alfonzo deal has been consummated, and he will report to AA New Hampshire tomorrow.

So when do the Blue Jays change their name to the Toronto Former Angels

Right after the Dodgers change their name to the Los Angeles Former Giants/Red Sox.

I've been bullish on Hillenbrand...his DH numbers are good, he's been trending upwards in several pertinent categories over the past three seasons, and it's his contract year.

But a smart friend recently pointed out that Shea slumps every year post-ASB...not a great sign for a team looking for consistency and pop like the Angels are.
