Minor League Scorebook

2006-05-18: Oklahoma 1, Salt Lake 5 #
Willits, R: 1-3, 1 BB
Kendrick, H: 1-4, 1 2B
Gorneault: 0-4, 2 K
Morales: 3-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Mathis, J: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Eylward: 3-4, 1 K
Moseley: 1.1 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 2.93 ERA
Bland: (W, 1-2) (in relief), 2.2 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 4.50 ERA
Gwyn: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 7.00 ERA
At last, somebody in the Angels system can get a victory. R.A. Dickey's knuckleball works just fine at this level; both sides unleashed a relay race to the finish line with their starters. Howie Kendrick is hitting .167/.167/.250 since coming back to Salt Lake. All that time rusting on the bench. Tsk.

Update: Dustin Moseley left the game early due to back spasms.

2006-05-18: Springfield 10, Arkansas 2 #
Peel, A: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 BB
Wood: 0-3, 2 BB, 2 K
Porter: 3-5
Wilson: 1-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Smith, J: (L, 3-3), 5.1 IP, 6 ER, 12 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 4.60 ERA
Ugh.
2006-05-18: Rancho Cucamonga 3, Inland Empire 5 #
Rodriguez, S: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 K
Collins: 0-4
Posey: (L, 1-3), 7.0 IP, 2 ER, 9 H, 3 K, 4 BB, 1 HR, 4.71 ERA
Man, if you're hitting .228 in a hitter's league and you're a first baseman, you'd better hope you don't get cut the next offseason. Ben Johnson made a pair of errors that turned into three unearned runs; Micah Posey took the loss, as the Quakes couldn't get any traction against the four pitchers the 66ers brought out.
2006-05-18: Quad Cities 10, Cedar Rapids 5 #
Statia: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Smith: 2-4, 1 3B, 1 K
Trumbo: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Schlichting: 2-4, 1 RBI
Edwards: 2-3, 1 BB
Mendoza: (L, 1-5), 4.0 IP, 7 ER, 8 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 5.44 ERA
Another shelling for Tommy Mendoza, only Mark Trumbo's home run kinda sorta made up for it.
2006-05-18: AZL Angels did not play
2006-05-18: Orem did not play
2006-05-18: Las Vegas 3, Albuquerque 5 #
Young, D: 0-4, 2 K
Guzman, J: 1-4, 1 K
Loney: 0-2, 1 K
Weber, J: 2-3
Juarez: (L, 3-3), 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 9 H, 4 K, 4 BB, 2 HR, 3.32 ERA
Thppt.
2006-05-18: Mississippi 2, Jacksonville 13 #
Abreu: 1-4, 1 2B, 2 BB
Hu: 4-6, 2 2B
Kemp: 2-4, 2 RBI, 2 BB
LaRoche: 4-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBI
Brazell: 2-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Ruggiano, J: 3-5, 2 RBI
Raglani: 0-3, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
Cresse: 3-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB
Orenduff, J: 0-4, 2 K
Orenduff, J: (W, 2-2), 6.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 3.62 ERA
Nall: 3.0 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 5.48 ERA
Justin Orenduff retired 14 of 16 batters following a tough first inning; he left his last game with elbow soreness. Andy Laroche was a triple away from the cycle, and Justin Ruggiano a 3-5 night, too. Chin-Lung Hu's 4-6 night shouldn't be forgotten, either, nor catcher Brad Cresse. When you're hitting .218, you need all the help you can get.
2006-05-18: Vero Beach 3, Tampa 2 #
Paul, X: 0-4, 1 K
Hoffmann: 2-4, 1 K
Dewitt: 1-4, 2 RBI
Denker, T: 0-4, 1 K
Johnson, B: (W, 2-2), 7.1 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 3.40 ERA
Wilson: 1.2 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 3.79 ERA
Beating the Yankees twice, two nights in a row. I like it!
2006-05-18: Rome 6, Columbus 0 #
De Jesus: 1-3, 1 BB
Pedroza: 0-2, 2 BB, 2 K
Sutherland: 2-4
McDonald: (L, 1-2), 5.1 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 8 K, 7 BB, 1 HR, 4.55 ERA
And at the other end of the scale, the Braves' low-A team demolished the Dodgers low-A team.
2006-05-18: GCL Dodgers did not play
2006-05-18: Ogden did not play

Comments:
Any reason why Moseley pitched so little? I thought he was a starter...
