Jones: (W, 3-4) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 4.65 ERA
His first shutout since April 28 (his second start at Salt Lake), Steven Shell baffled the Grizzlies through six. Chris Bootcheck and Jason Bulger made it close by giving up six runs, four earned. Bootcheck failed to field a ball hit by Jed Hansen; he also advanced a runner on a wild pitch, both actions costing him runs. Tommy Murphy continued to knock on the door in his first minor league game since being optioned back to Salt Lake, going 3-5 with an RBI; Howie Kendrick had another 1-4 outing, bringing his average under .400 for the first time in days.
2006-06-13: Arkansas 0, Springfield 2 #
Wood: 1-4, 2 K
Wilson: 0-4, 2 K

Edens: (L, 1-1) (in relief), 1.1 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 0 K, 2 BB, 5.62 ERA
Travs just can't catch a break. Jesse Smith puts in six and two-thirds scoreless frames, and the Cards beat the Travs anyway. Kyle Edens was the evening's goat. Cards starter Mike Parisi struck out ten batters and two-hit Arkansas over seven innings; the loss extends the Travs' skid to six straight.

Micah Posey got blown out — again — in his worst outing of the year. Only Freddy Sandoval had a good night at the plate.

Osoria: 2.1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 4.91 ERA
Hello, Los Angeles? I hear you might need a third baseman... Andy LaRoche homered in his fourth consecutive game and his second at Las Vegas as the 51's snuck past the Sky Sox, three-hitting Colorado Springs. Kazuo Matsui, the former Met shortstop and now a minor leaguer, has to be considered nothing more than depth with Troy Tulowitzki racing up the depth charts; he went 0-2 with a pair of walks in the game. Gio Carrara continues to look like a real possibility as a callup for the bullpen.
2006-06-13: Jacksonville 3, Mississippi 2 #
Hu: 0-3, 1 BB
Abreu: 0-4, 1 K
Ellis: 1-2, 2 BB
Nall: (W, 4-2), 8.0 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 6 K, 1 BB, 3.29 ERA
The Suns set a franchise record by winning their 13th straight game today, and are four away from beating a Southern League record of 16 games, set by Montgomery July 3-26, 1968. 26-year-old T.J. Nall, in AA for the second time, pitched a season-high eight innings in the game.
