Update: Now with game comments!

2006-07-21: Tucson 9, Salt Lake 11 #
Murphy: 3-5, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 2 K
Pride: 1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB
Aybar: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
McPherson: 0-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 3 K
Eylward: 0-4, 3 K
Mathis, J: 2-4, 1 3B, 2 RBI, 1 K
Aspito: 1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Myers: 2-4, 1 2B
Smith, C: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
Olenberger: 5.0 IP, 4 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 3 K, 5 BB, 1 HR, 5.11 ERA
Wilhite, M: (W, 5-2) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 3.30 ERA
Matt Welch wrote a cranky defense of Dallas McPherson yesterday, but whatever D-Mac's value might be, it's getting increasingly obvious that his downtime has affected his eye pretty badly. That would be ten strikeouts in his last four games and 17 at bats; his opposition last night was Adam Bass (2006 stats), an underwhelming mediocrity in a relatively packed Arizona farm system.

Anyway: Casey Smith and Erick Aybar both homered in the eighth to provide the go-ahead runs for the Bees in a game where four balls went over the fence for Salt Lake. Jason Aspito and Curtis Pride hit the other two. The Sidewinders batted around on Jeff Heaverlo for five runs in the sixth.

2006-07-21: Arkansas 1, Tulsa 2 #
Peel, A: 2-6, 1 2B, 2 K
Wood: 0-4
Brown: 2-5, 1 K
Evans: 1-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Wilson: 0-4, 1 BB
Pali: 2-4, 1 BB
Hunter: 8.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 6 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 6.78 ERA
Thompson: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 5 K, 0 BB, 5.53 ERA
Zimmermann: (L, 1-3) (in relief), 0.2 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 3 BB, 6.21 ERA
Chris Hunter delivered eight innings of one-run ball in easily his best outing of the year, but the Travs couldn't score any runs for him. The game went into extra innings, and was decided when Bob Zimmermann gave up a walkoff bases-loaded walk in the 12th. Matt Brown now has a 15-game hitting streak going.
2006-07-21: Rancho Cucamonga 3, Inland Empire 2 #
Sandoval, F: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K
Rodriguez, S: 1-2, 1 2B, 2 BB
Toussaint: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Duff: 2-4
Leblanc: 2-4, 2 K
Rodriguez: (W, 3-9), 6.2 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 5.36 ERA
Jepsen: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 3.62 ERA
A three-run third, sparked in part by Nate Sutton reaching on catcher's interference, was all the Quakes would need. Rancho won despite a very sloppy four errors that yielded only one earned run.
2006-07-21: Cedar Rapids vs. Quad Cities: Postponed: Rain #
2006-07-21: Orem 3, Helena 1 #
Mount: 1-4, 1 2B
Pettit: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 K
Phillips: 0-4
Brewer: 2-4
Bell: (W, 3-0), 6.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 6 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 2.13 ERA
For a first-round pick, Trevor Bell's 5.2 K/9 just isn't impressive. He's getting the job done, but he's hardly dominating. A Peter Bourjos triple followed by Luis Rivera's sac fly decided the game; Christopher Pettit also had a solo homer in the inning. Four other relievers held down the fort for three innings of scoreless baseball.
2006-07-21: AZL Athletics 5, AZL Angels 8 #
Lewis: 0-3, 1 RBI, 2 BB
Sweeney: 2-5, 1 2B, 3 RBI
Loman: 1-2, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Ortiz: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
Fuller: 2-4, 1 K
Veras: (W, 4-1), 5.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 5 K, 3 BB, 2.17 ERA
The Angels beat the A's but not without a fight, as the A's put up four runs over the last two frames of a game that once was at an 8-1 advantage following a five-run sixth featuring a bases-loaded walk by Christopher Lewis and a three-run Seth Lohman homer. Norberto Ortiz also homered in the win. Vladimir Veras continues to look sharp, with an 8.38 K/9 and a very shiny 2.17 ERA in a tough hitter's league.
2006-07-21: Portland 11, Las Vegas 5 #
Loney: 1-5
Kemp: 2-5, 1 K
Guzman, J: 1-4
Young, D: 2-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI
LaRoche: 3-4, 1 2B
Kuo: (L, 1-2), 2.2 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 5.75 ERA
Reid: 3.1 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 7 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 5.51 ERA
The Dodgers continue to try to convert Kuo to starting when it's not clear he's capable of reliable relief. It's Hong-Chih's second loss in as many starts, and both times he hasn't gotten out of the third while giving up three runs. He wasn't the only 51's pitcher to get in trouble, though: Justin Reid gave up four earned runs over 3.1 IP, and Lance Carter surrendered three over one inning.

On the other hand, Mark Alexander continued his scoreless streak in his third appearance for Las Vegas. (I missed his first one, which would have been Monday.) That streak commenced with a May 21 game in Jacksonville, and he finished his season with Las Vegas with a 0.66 ERA and a 13.61 K/9. Very impressive!

Delwyn Young, Matt Kemp, and Andy LaRoche all had fine nights at the plate, with Young providing a solo homer.

2006-07-21: Chattanooga 2, Jacksonville 3 #
Greenberg: 0-4, 2 BB, 2 K
Hu, C: 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Abreu: 2-6, 1 RBI, 2 K
Meadows: 2-4, 1 BB, 2 K
Raglani: 0-5, 1 K
Lundberg: 6.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 H, 6 K, 1 BB, 2.19 ERA
Akin: 2.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 1 HR, 3.60 ERA
Ojeda: (W, 6-2) (in relief), 2.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 2.56 ERA
An extra-innings nail-biter after three blowouts earlier in the series, two by the Suns and one by the Lookouts. Ahead 1-0 going into the top of the ninth, Brian Akin gave up the tying run in the top of the ninth and the apparent go-ahead run in the top of the 11th. Jacksonville answered with a run in the bottom half, with a Chin Lung Hu RBI single scoring Adam Greenberg, who reached on a wild pitch strikeout and got to second on a blown pickoff toss. Tony Abreu got the walkoff bases-loaded RBI single in the bottom of the 13th.
2006-07-21: Vero Beach 5, Sarasota 8 #
Paul, X: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Dewitt: 0-4, 1 RBI
Locke: 3-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Santana: 3-4, 2 2B
Hoffmann: 0-4, 2 K
Bastardo: 3.1 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 4.15 ERA
Leach: (L, 2-2) (in relief), 1.2 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 4.50 ERA
Pimentel: 2.0 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 H, 0 K, 2 BB, 5.69 ERA
One big inning in the fourth was enough to chase Alberto Bastardo, though he didn't get tagged with the loss. Drew Locke, who has a fifteen-game on-base streak going, homered in the loss.
2006-07-21: Columbus 11, Asheville 10 #
De Jesus: 1-5, 1 BB, 2 K
Harper: 3-5, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Denker, T: 3-5, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
May: 3-6, 1 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1 K
Sutherland: 1-4, 2 BB
Justis: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Hunt: 3-4
Arias, M: 4.2 IP, 7 R, 7 ER, 11 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 4.53 ERA
Hochgesang: (W, 1-0) (in relief), 2.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 8.22 ERA
Castillo: 2.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 H, 2 K, 3 BB, 3.61 ERA
The Catfish overcame an 8-3 deficit with a five-run sixth that included a Lucas May grand slam. Three more runs in the seventh and eighth put Columbus ahead for good.

Eric Young, Jr. stole his 66th base of the year for the Tourists. Man, that's a lot of stolen bases.

2006-07-21: Ogden 0, Missoula 2 #
Rivera, M: 2-4, 1 K
Castillo, J: (L, 0-2), 6.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 1.41 ERA
Missoula scored two in the second and that's all they'd need, as they cruised to a four-hit shutout of the Raptors. A tough-luck loss for "Your Own Personal" Jesus Castillo, who's notched three quality starts out of seven total, yet remains 0-2 despite it. (In one of those starts, it looks like he got yanked for reasons other than immediate performance.) His 8.44 K/9 and 7.50 K/BB mark him as somebody to possibly keep an eye on.
2006-07-21: GCL Marlins 3, GCL Dodgers 4 #
Mattingly: 1-4
Ortiz: 2-3, 1 BB
Herrera: 3-3, 1 2B, 1 BB
Robinson: 2-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Gardner: 4.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 7 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 6.75 ERA
Diaz: 3.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 2.02 ERA
Gracia: (W, 2-1) (in relief), 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 2.92 ERA
The Dodgers won this game in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the ninth. Down 3-2, Elian Herrera got a leadoff walk and Trayvon Robinson slapped a single to center that drove Herrera to third, and thanks to a wierd throw by Marlins CF Dustin Kaats, Robinson somehow made it to second. With one out, Francisco Lizarraga went for a squeeze bunt, but Carlos Faria threw the ball away, and both runners scored.

Comments:
My completely unreadable boxscore from tonight's 51's game:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/boilermaker78/scorecard.jpg

I haven't done a scorecard in maybe 10 years, so don't mind the fact it's pretty useless to read.

Anonymous, you stop that apologizing and thanks for posting.

66 steals? In July? Did I read that right?

Yes.
