Seven And Oh: Angels 3, Royals 1
Jered Weaver, maybe not as sharp as we've seen him, walked as many as he struck out (four each), yet he still had another fine game and went 7-0 in his rookie season. It's really too bad for Weaver that Francisco Liriano's in the same league in consideration for Rookie of the Year, and Johan Santana in consideration for Cy Young. A good test for him, and even though he got into a number of hitter's counts, he never really got into serious trouble, not, in my opinion, even when he was yanked in the seventh. Q gets offensive hero of the game for his two-RBI effort against a righty, no less. The game also featured an appearance at third by rookie Howie Kendrick, who had no chances to field. Among other things, as Phys mentioned, the Royals installed five lefty batters, who hit the ball nowhere near Kendrick.
Update: Speaking of Howie — do work on that batter's interference thing.
