The Angels Have Had Some Kinda Outfield Defense

Chris Dial took a look at AL outfield defense, and the big shocker is that the 2002 classic defense of Anderson, Erstad, and Salmon ranked (in order) first, first, and third over the last ten years. Much as I love Vlad's bat, he just is ... loopy shagging those fly balls.

i always take defensive stats with a grain of salt, knowing this field is 'under construction' in the baseball stathead community.

however, it was a good thing i was sitting down when i read that! Nice!

it'll be interesting to see if Jim Edmonds gets mentioned in the NL.
