Cards' Offense Can't Support Weaver: Mets 2, Cardinals 0

The flip side of Tuesday's Barry Zito rollover was today's solid outing by Jeff Weaver, who's now posted a wholly respectable 3.18 ERA in this year's postseason. He's probably earned himself another $1M spiff on top of whatever contract he was likely to get, and I can imagine him easily going back to the Cards. Of course, the Cubs-loving wife eagerly anticipates such an eventuality, so we shall see.

There wasn't much to talk about for the Cards' offense, and nearly as little to discuss with the Mets, the former getting four hits while the latter got six, and one of the Cards' being a single off the bat of Weaver. It could be a very fast series, really.
