A's Sign Embree, Close To Piazza
The Oakland Athletics not-yet-of Freemont have signed reliever Alan Embree and are close to a deal with Mike Piazza that would be for one year and $8M-$9M. The A's had discussed a two-year deal, but Piazza is unsure how much he'll appreciate DHing.
Update: Rosenthal confirms the Piazza deal, one year and $8.5M.
