Rangers Re-Sign Padilla
The Rangers re-signed starter Vicente Padilla; for $34M/3 years. An absolutely necessary move by the Rangers, who would have been devastated had he left elsewhere, especially since it's questionable whether their top pitching prospects (the so-called DVD trio — Diamond, Volquez, and Danks) were ready for the Show.

I don't know how good Diamond and Danks will be once they even make it. Working for the Rangers AA affiliate this past summer I was able to see them both pitch alot. I'm thinking that Danks will wind up in the bullpen while Diamond might become a #4 starter. A lot of people think that they are hyped up way too much and I tend to agree somewhat. They could contribute but nothing spectacular.
