Ex-Angels In The News
A couple items I wanted to talk about briefly --
- Brendan Donnelly! Jose Guillen! Back to hating again! Donnelly struck out Guillen Tuesday on three straight pitches, and then Guillen charged the mound. Both teams filed out of their dugouts to do whatever it is that baseball players do when they "fight" (i.e., bump each other and say unkind words about their opponents' choices in mothers, or something); Guillen was ejected, and so, eventually, was Donnelly after he plunked Kenji Johjima.
"This goes way back since I was with the Angels. (I) caught him cheating once and, unfortunately, he keeps running his mouth like he's going to hit me. You've got to be man enough to hit me and not hit a catcher."
Good times. - I direct your attention to yesterday's 5-1 Twins victory over the Yankees in which
staff ace Johan Santanaformer Angel, Red, and National, and chronic headcase Ramon Ortiz somehow mesmerized the Bombers while only allowing three hits, a walk, and striking out four over eight innings. There were no errors in the game, and Ortiz retired every Yankee in order through the first three innings; the only run the Yanks scored was on an A-Rod sac fly. People will accuse spectators for years of having visions or cataracts. Think kindly upon them, and understand that you know the truth, and its name is Retrosheet.
