Minor League Scorebook

2007-04-25: Salt Lake did not play
2007-04-25: Tulsa 7, Arkansas 2 #
Rodriguez, S: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Wilson: 0-4, 1 K
Collins: 0-4, 2 K
Saenz: (L, 1-1), 0.2 IP, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 4 BB, 9.69 ERA
Thompson: 3.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 5 K, 0 BB, 3.86 ERA
Pullin: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 4.35 ERA
Saenz of trouble: A good old-fashioned rout, as recently signed starter Chris Saenz only retired two batters while giving up six runs, all earned, on four walks (including a bases-loaded walk to Jordan Czarniecki) and two hits before he got yanked. On top of that, he hit a batter, and catcher Bobby Wilson allowed a passed ball. In all, Tulsa sent ten men to the plate; the nightmare inning finally ended when Bobby Wilson threw out Jonathan Herrera trying to steal second. Herrera went 4-for-5 in the game with a pair of RBIs, and currently leads the Texas League with a .377 batting average.

The rest of the pitching staff only allowed one run, that by Rich Thompson. Arkansas' only runs came in the bottom of the fourth, when shortstop Herrera threw away a grounder, allowing Freddy Sandoval and Curtis Pride to score. With the loss, the Travs extend their skid to four straight.

2007-04-25: High Desert 3, Rancho Cucamonga 8 #
Coon: 2-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Statia: 1-2, 1 BB
Morris: 0-2, 2 BB
Sutton: 2-3, 1 BB
Toussaint: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 2 K
Mosebach: (W, 3-1), 7.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 4.50 ERA
Bobby Mosebach went seven solid innings for his first quality start of the year and his best outing. Rancho jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, an inning that saw a Jordan Renz double, and a wild pitch by High Desert starter Aaron Cotter and a passed ball by catcher Travis Scott, allowing Renz to score.

Brad Beck gave up all three runs that the Mavericks would get in the eighth, the first time since April 8 he's surrendered any earned runs.

Gonzalez, J: 2-4, 3 RBI
Megrew: (L, 1-1), 6.0 IP, 11 R, 7 ER, 14 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 4.70 ERA
The Diamond Jaxx led all the way, but what a wild one this game was, as the Suns made a five-run comeback in the top of the ninth to almost tie the game — almost. Two-run homers for Anthony Raglani and Alberto Concepcion, Jr. in the eighth inning were the leadup to the crazy ninth, in which Raglani got a bases-loaded walk off Craig James to start the scoring. Marshall McDougall got a sac fly to cashin Xavier Paul, and Luke Allen sent home John Lindsay to close the gap to three. Concepcion, Jr. then walked, setting up an RBI single from Juan Gonzalez that plated Raglani and Luke Allen. The game ended on a Chin-Lung Hu GIDP. What a disappointment on such a thrilling rally!
