Angels', Dodgers' HD Broadcasts Finally Working Right
Since I was at all the weekend games, I didn't have time to notice that it appears Time-Warner Cable, at least, has both teams' games scheduled for HD actually in place in the program guide. As usual, the staff training at the customer service level at TWC leaves something to be desired. But, yay!Bad Things Happen To Other Teams, AKA Roster Notes
- Whatever tight market for starting pitching there was prior to yesterday got a little tighter as Yankees rookie starter Darrell Rasner has been sidelined with a broken finger, and will miss the rest of the season. Of course, that doesn't quite take into consideration the strong outing Tyler Clippard had last night, holding down the Mets for six innings in his inaugural game. Clippard was the fifth rookie pitcher to debut for the Yanks this season, a franchise high. Prediction: Roger Clemens won't be their savior.
- Rotoworld reports Felix Hernandez plunked a batter and generally had control problems in his start last night against the Padres, who threw him for a 2-1 loss with Justin Germano the winning pitcher. Germano has a 0.47 ERA in two starts this year, but his history shows he's unlikely to repeat that level of success. Meanwhile, the Angels will face Hernandez in the last game of the upcoming home series against the M's, on May 30.
