Ye Who Doubt .500: Indians 5, Angels 1

One lousy double, one lousy RBI, and two singles. Get this team a damn power hitter. Still doubt this team will be lucky to get to .500 over the next two weeks?

And on top of this, the rats in the attic (who are now hopefully dead) chewed through the control wires for the air conditioning system, so the house is still ten degrees warmer inside than out. If this keeps happening, I'm moving to Oregon, season tickets or no.

I can recommend Takilma, Oregon. That is where I visited in my late 1970's Doonesbury days. I stayed on the east bank of the Illinois River, about two miles north of the California state line. We most recently visited Takilma in the summer of 2004 during the Biscuit Fire which burned the lower Illinois River valley in Josephine County. For the uninitiated, Takilma is near Cave Junction in southwest Oregon (between Grants Pass and Crescent City, California).

Our air conditioning works just fine. Our heater went out around New Years. We stayed warm utilizing candles and bundling up this winter. Our heater won't get fixed until after we return from our summer sojourn to Nepal and India.

Right now I doubt the Angels can reach .500 for this homestand. My picks for the Chisox and Tribe series were LWW WLW. For the first four games I get the golden sombrero like Travis Hafner did tonight. Hopefully I will make platinum and be wrong again tomorrow! If I reach that point, what is after a platinum sombrero?
