Completions And Connections: Angels 5, Twins 1
This isn't winning, it's wilding.
The Angels took five straight like they were playing a beer league. They haven't had a losing month since June of last year.
Casey Kotchman connected for his second home run in as many games, and his third in a week. Kelvim Escobar went the distance, his second complete game of the year, a three-hit, one-run gem to bring his record to 7-3, putting him third in the league (tied for third with Boston's Matsuzaka) for wins. Reggie Willits got a walk and a hit, and scored a pair of runs. Even Chone Figgins went 2-3 with an RBI, dragging his average to .221.
There's one game left with the Twins, tomorrow's day game, and then 15 interleague games with three-game series against St. Louis, Cincinnati, and with no travel day to Los Angeles (the real one). The Halos then return home for a series against the Astros and Pirates, and then return to the AL with a four game series at home against the Royals.
The A's have already won their game against Boston, 2-0, and the M's are beating the O's 5-4. The Halos will, once again, end the day with a five and a half game lead over the second-place M's.
The Angels have the most wins in baseball.
