The Dodgers Have 103 Words For "Bad": Blue Jays 11, Dodgers 5

So next week it should be interesting because, unless something intervenes, we ought to get Jason Schmidt against Jered Weaver, and both are battling injuries, Schmidt's old and Weaver's new. Schmidt clearly isn't well yet, at least, he wasn't in this game, giving up five runs while only lasting through four innings.

This game ceased to be interesting after about the third, and so I flipped over to the Padres/Mariners and watched this one in picture-in-picture, flipping back and forth over commercial breaks. The Pads did the Dodgers a favor (and the Angels a no help) by losing to the M's, so the Dodgers at least didn't lose any ground in the division race.

The best part of the game was the callup of James Loney, which necessitated the Brady Clark's DFA. I wish Clark well, despite his unimpressive production for the Dodgers. As for Loney, he actually drove in one of the Dodgers' five runs; Nomar was benched, but came in the game later as a pinch-hitter. It's way past time Grady saw what the kids can do.
