Gorneault: 1-4, 1 K
Wood: 1-3, 1 BB, 2 K
Eylward: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K

Wilhite, M: (W, 2-1) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 2.55 ERA
Kasey Olenberger turned in his longest performance of the year, eight innings of two run ball. Portland pulled ahead in the top of the tenth with a leadoff homer from Michael Johnson against reliever Matt Wilhite, but the Bees came back in the bottom of the frame, when reliever Scott Cassidy allowed a leadoff single to Ryan Budde. Tommy Murphy's sac bunt turned into a two-base error when Cassidy threw it away. Cassidy then intentionally walked Maicer Izturis to load the bases, but Kendry Morales hit a walkoff single that plated two.
Rodriguez, S: 1-3, 1 BB
Porter: 2-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Wilson: 1-5, 2 RBI
Peel, A: 2-4, 1 K
Collins: 1-1, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Adenhart: (W, 5-2), 8.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 10 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 3.44 ERA
Hunter: (S, 1), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
A solid outing by Nick Adenhart, who danced around ten hits to record a quality start plus. His offense gave him an immediate five-run lead, keyed by Adam Morrissey's leadoff homer. Wranglers starter Daniel Christiensen was wild, plunking Sean Rodriguez and uncorking a wild pitch against Greg Porter that moved Freddy Sandoval and Rodriguez to second and third; he walked Greg Porter, and singles by Bobby Wilson and Matt Pali drove in three. Michael Collins' one-out sac fly capped the scoring. Collins also drove in one on a near inside-the-park home run in the seventh, charged as a triple and an error on the cutoff man, shortstop Irving Falu.
With the win, the Travs record a series victory, and proceed home to meet Springfield.
Johnson: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
Remole: 0-2, 2 BB
Toussaint: 0-0, 3 BB
Ortega: (L, 4-5), 7.0 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 6 H, 6 K, 0 BB, 3 HR, 3.21 ERA
Anthony Ortega gave up three homers in another of the Cal League's notorious launching pads, while the Quakes weren't able to do much against Jethawks starter John Barnes. Ben Johnson recorded his fifth homer of the season, a one-out solo shot in the top of the fourth.
Trumbo: 2-4, 1 2B
Conger: 1-4, 2 K
Phillips: 0-4, 2 K
Smith: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI
Schoeninger: 8.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 7 K, 1 BB, 2.72 ERA
Madrigal: (W, 2-3) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 3.55 ERA
Tim Schoeninger continues to beg for a promotion to the Cal League, retiring the first 12 batters in order before giving up the Swing's only run of the game. Schoeninger's walked six batters all year while striking out nearly ten times that many, consistent with his sudden transformation from a college mediocrity to a professional strike-thrower. And look at this: Mark Trumbo has had more multi-hit games (5) than strikeouts (2) this month, improving his June line to .516/.559/.903. He won't stay this hot, of course, but it's a big turnaround for the 21-year-old. Stantrel Smith contributed with a solo homer; Abel Nieves got a walkoff RBI single in the ninth.
Anderson: 0-1, 2 BB
Loney: 0-4, 1 BB, 2 K
Young: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
LaRoche: 0-5, 2 K
Freeman: 1-5, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 K
Stults: 2-2, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Eckert: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 11.12 ERA
Pollok: (BS, 1), 2.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 6.35 ERA
Hoorelbeke: (L, 1-2) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 5.68 ERA
A wild game in which starter Eric Stults survived five innings but got two of those back at the plate himself on a two-run homer. Both teams traded single runs in the third and three-run fourth innings, Fresno's including consecutive homers from Scott McClain and Justin Leone. Las Vegas took the lead on a Delwyn Young homer in the bottom of the fifth, but Fresno re-tied the game in the top of the ninth when Dwayne Pollok gave up a leadoff walk to Guillermo Rodriguez, who later scored on Tomas De La Rosa's two-out single.
The 51's relief corps once again imploded in the top of the 11th, when Casey Hoorelbeke gave up yet another leadoff walk to Luis R. Figueroa, and allowed Tomas De La Rosa to reach when Hoorelbeke threw wildly to first, putting men at second and third. Three eventually scored, two on Justin Leone's RBI double, and aside from Wilson Valdez's two-out single in the bottom of the frame, Las Vegas didn't mount much of a reply.
Paul: 3-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Nicholson: 2-2, 1 BB
Megrew: 0-1
Dunlap: 1-2, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K
Megrew: 4.1 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 6 BB, 1 HR, 6.67 ERA
Akin: 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 5.97 ERA
Troncoso: (W, 2-1) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 2.61 ERA
Meloan: (S, 10), 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 5 K, 0 BB, 2.32 ERA
Jacksonville jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first thanks to three successive two-out singles by Xavier Paul and John Linsey, and Camilo Vazquez's wild pitch. By the end of the fifth Chattanooga had amassed a 4-1 lead, but the Suns returned thunder in the bottom of the seventh with a four-run inning featuring an RBI double by Cory Dunlap, Wilkin Ruan's steal of second, and Xavier Paul's two-run single.
Michael Megrew didn't survive the fifth, allowing four runs on six walks and two hits, but his relievers fared much better, especially Jonathan Meloan, who struck out five over two innings of scoreless work.
Dewitt: 2-5, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Hoffmann: 2-4
Denker, T: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Tomlin: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Gutierrez, G: 2-4, 2 RBI, 1 K
Godwin: 2-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Felix: (W, 2-1), 7.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 5 K, 3 BB, 2.82 ERA
A fine outing for Francisco Felix, who collected his second win in six attempts thanks to a big four-run sixth inning. The lead could have been even bigger, as the 66ers had a one-out rally going in the bottom of the fifth. With the bases loaded, Adam Godwin was caught leaning at third, and Ivan De Jesus struck out swinging to end the threat.
Blake Dewitt had a solo homer to lead off scoring in the sixth in a game that featured eight stolen bases and one caught stealing.
Santana: 2-4, 2 RBI
Mattingly: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI
White, G: (L, 1-3), 4.0 IP, 4 R, 3 ER, 6 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 3.19 ERA
Those concerned about Preston Mattingly's offense will be pleased to learn he's hitting .407/.429/.667 in June so far, and .393/.424/.661 since May 22, when he really started to heat up.
