Pickoff Moves
Dodgers Bidding Radio
And thank God; with the Angels now a lock to leave 710 (too bad, because I get them really well at the office, not so much their new home at 830 AM), the Dodgers needed to move from newsradio, never a good fit.Roster Notes
- Dallas McPherson has been cleared to run on a treadmill, and there's still the (slim) hope he'll be back to play this year:
"Have they forgotten me? I don't think so," McPherson said in a telephone interview Tuesday from Arizona, where he is conducting his rehabilitation. "Why else would they hold onto me? I just have to concentrate to getting healthy and 100% and getting back on the field.
He could be taking batting practice and fielding grounders within a month. - Despite missing rehab time due to flu-like symptoms Tuesday, Maicer Izturis could be back with the Angels in time for the Dodgers series on Friday.
- Jered Weaver visited a chiropractor and claims his back problems are behind him. Uh...
- Juan Rivera is taking soft toss and hitting off a tee. He might take batting practice next week.
- Clayton Kershaw missed a start on purpose, to keep him from blowing out his arm early. "We want to make sure we're keeping everybody fresh," Dodgers minor league director DeJon Watson said.
- Update: Buried in last night's AP game recap was the news that the Dodgers have signed four draftees, INF Austin Gallagher (third round), OF Andrew Lambo (fourth round), RHP Andres Santiago (16th round) and INF Franklin Jacobs (17th round).
- Jose Lima wants back in the majors, and is pitching in the Mexican leagues in hopes of attracting some attention; he leads the league with a 9-2 record.
- Larry Bigbie has signed with the Braves' Richmond AAA affiliate.
- The Padres may sign recently released Dodger Brady Clark, who would then return to his former home town. The Mets and Rockies also supposedly have interest.
- The oft-injured Chris Snelling is ... wait for it ... injured again, this time during his minor league rehab stint, with knee soreness.
- Bobby Kielty might be on his way back with a rehab assignment starting as early as Saturday.
- Huston Street has been shut down again, and is seeking a second opinion on his elbow. A pre-All-Star return seems unlikely.
