Retirement Gift: Astros 7, Dodgers 4
Craig Biggio, who announced at a press conference earlier in the day that he planned to retire at the end of the season, broke a 3-3 tie with a grand slam off Rudy Seanez, who probably wished he could retire at that exact moment. If I had know he Biggio wanted a retirement gift, I would happily have sprung for the gold watch.
Mark Hendrickson was about as good as you could have hoped for under the circumstances, i.e., he was usable for five and then collapsed. Same old, same old: bullpen or rotation, the Dodgers just don't have enough pitching, and all of a sudden, too.
