Roster Notes
- The Angels are talking to the White Sox about Paul Konerko, again. The White Sox are in limited fire sale mode, and are shopping Jermaine Dye and Jose Contreras, too. I dunno, I think what we've seen from Kotchman warrants keeping him.
- The Angels are supposed to be among the teams interested in a trade for Mark Teixeira, as is Boston.
- For that matter, the Dodgers supposedly have interest in Jermaine Dye, as do the Mets, Padres, and Mariners. Dye will be a free agent at the end of the year.
- A's shortstop Bobby Crosby's hand was not fractured from last night's hit-by-pitch, but only bruised.
Update: Looks like Rotoworld was a little quick on the gun with that one, as the A's subsequently disabled Crosby with a broken hand. That would probably put him on target for a late August return date, depending on the severity of the break. Thanks to Philip Michaels in the comments for the heads up.
- Padres RHP Chris Young left Tuesday's game with an oblique strain. The Padres beat Colorado 5-3, and moved to within a game of the first-place Dodgers.
- Update: Some Angels minor league shuffling for you on a Wednesday morning... the Travs announced that C/1B Ben Johnson will return from Rancho, RHP Aaron Pullin is heading up to Salt Lake for the first time in his career, and Jeff Kennard will replace Pullin in the Travs' bullpen.
